15mm Laser Nozzle

The laser nozzle is responsible for maintaining the distance between the laser head and the workpiece, guiding the auxiliary gas to pass smoothly through the workpiece being cut, and creating high pressure at the nozzle outlet to accelerate the cutting speed. It also carries away molten slag and protects the internal lenses of the laser head. It is an indispensable part of the laser cutting process and directly determines the quality of laser cutting.

Single-layer nozzle: Nitrogen is used as the auxiliary gas. It is mainly used for melting cutting and is suitable for cutting materials such as stainless steel and aluminum alloy.

Double-layer nozzle: Oxygen is used as the auxiliary gas. It is primarily used for oxidative cutting and is suitable for cutting materials like carbon steel.

The aperture size of the laser nozzle has a significant impact on the cutting quality:

Small aperture nozzle: Suitable for thin plate cutting, capable of achieving a finer cutting surface, but there may be molten slag at the corners.

Large aperture nozzle: Suitable for thick plate cutting, with a large gas diffusion area and slower gas flow, resulting in more stable cutting. However, the larger the aperture, the poorer the protection for the focusing lens, as the likelihood of molten material sparks splashing upwards increases, potentially shortening the lifespan of the lens.

The coaxiality between the nozzle outlet hole and the laser beam is one of the important factors affecting the quality of the cutting. Especially when cutting thicker workpieces, the impact of coaxiality becomes more significant. Therefore, it is necessary to adjust the coaxiality between the nozzle center and the laser to obtain a better cutting section.
